The Big Island reported 101 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday, sending the island’s total case count to 4,051.
Of the 485 new cases reported by the Department of Health on Saturday, 315 were on Oahu, 42 in Maui County and nine on Kauai. Eighteen cases were reported from residents who tested positive out of state.
Since the end of last February, 42,410 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Hawaii.
The Big Island had a 7.3% seven-day positivity rate, over the state’s 5.5% positivity rate on Saturday. Over the last 14 days, 604 cases have been reported on the Big Island. Over the past week, the island has reported an average of 58.1 cases per day.
There were 117 individuals statewide hospitalized on Saturday including 16 on the Big Island.
No new deaths attributed to the virus were reported on Saturday. Of the 537 deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 413 were on Oahu, 61 were on Maui, 58 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
Community testing and vaccination sites will remain at the Kona Community Aquatic Center on Tuesdays and the Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo on Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Testing and vaccinations are free to the public for non-travel-related purposes.
